Fiber Art Now Featured in Korea’s Craft Culture Magazine

We are honored to share that Fiber Art Now has been recognized by the Korean magazine Craft Culture as one of the leading art publications in the field of contemporary craft. Their special feature, published in their spring issue, highlights influential craft magazines from around the world—each selected for their dedication to innovation, artistic excellence, and community building. We’re proud to be included alongside titles like Metalsmith, Embroidery, and American Woodturner.

The section of the article on Fiber Art Now, titled “A Hub for Participation and Connection in Fiber Arts, focuses on our mission and the values we hold at the heart of everything we do. Our goal has always been to spotlight the latest and most exceptional fiber art and to affirm its significance within the broader art world. We’re especially grateful that the editors of Craft Culture saw the care, creativity, and dedication our community brings to every issue.

Their article describes how Fiber Art Now thrives through artist participation—from features on emerging artists, mid-career makers, and students, to contributions from writers who are also artists themselves. We were glad to share how our programs like Excellence in Fibers, Fiber Reimagined, and our artist grant initiatives help us discover and support new voices in the fiber world. These programs, and our open calls for entry, ensure that every issue feels like a curated exhibit—diverse, dynamic, and deeply rooted in the community we serve.

One of the questions we were asked in the interview was how Fiber Art Now continues to grow and connect across borders, even during challenging times for print media. We spoke about the importance of strong visuals—how our imagery draws readers in and how the print edition invites them to slow down, sit with the art, and savor every page. Our digital presence plays a vital role in this as well. Through our Instagram weekend takeovers, active Facebook community, and ongoing blog series, we spotlight individual artists and highlight fiber communities around the globe. These features celebrate the groups, guilds, and gatherings that foster connection, share knowledge, and offer essential support to fiber artists, extending the conversation far beyond the printed page and strengthening the community that fuels everything we do.

It was especially meaningful to hear from Craft Culture’s editor, Boran Kim, who wrote:

“Above all, I was glad to learn that Fiber Art Now continues to support the international fiber art community and lead the way in advancing the field—even under challenging circumstances.”

Being recognized in an international publication is always an honor, but what made this experience particularly special was the sense of connection. Even across languages and time zones, the shared commitment to craft as a vital, evolving art form was unmistakable.

Thank you Craft Culture for including us in this beautifully curated feature—and thank you to all the artists, writers, readers, and supporters who make Fiber Art Now what it is. We look forward to continuing to tell your stories and celebrate your work in every form fiber art takes.
