About Jaana Mattson
Jaana Mattson is an award-winning artist and instructor specializing in wood and fiber works. She holds an MFA with a focus in fibers from the University of Washington Seattle and produced art jewelry and mixed-media sculpture before stumbling across the concept of needle felting. Grounded by a formal art education and driven by her love of landscape, she was inspired to create new techniques with a felting needle to best capture the subtlety and grandeur of the natural landscape. When not traveling the country to show her work or teach, Mattson creates in her studios in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. www.jaanamattson.com
