Portland TextileX Month is a month-long festival celebrating the beauty and breadth of textile culture every October. Each installment of PTXM hosts dozens of artist talks, workshops, exhibits, conversations, and community projects. Techniques including but not limited to natural dye, weaving, clothing construction, knitting, quilting, printing, tufting, sculpture, sewing, filmmaking,
mending and tailoring are highlighted in our programs.
This October the PTXM festival will explore the theme of Regeneration. Through the loss and dislocation we have collectively experienced, how have our myths, rituals, and symbols sparked joy and regeneration in our lives and textile practices? What are the reflections that have inspired and shuttled us through uncertain times? And what role do art, community building, protesting, teaching, sharing, and grieving play in regenerating the communities and worlds we inhabit?
