Fiber Club* is thrilled to present its inaugural Member’s Edition group show during Detroit Month of Design (September, 2023), at Convent Detroit. Curated by Kit Parks and Melissa Webb, Mending the Net will kick off with an opening event on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 4- 7PM, at 13301 Mound Road Detroit, MI 48212.

Mending the Net follows the ethos of inclusion, with the work of 50+ Fiber Club* members, a diverse cross-section of fiber artists in the Detroit metro area, offering the community an opportunity to experience a varied range of textile-based art in one thematically-linked show. In addition to open visiting hours, several workshops and events are scheduled during the show’s run, supporting the goal of developing a new access point for the wider community to engage with a wide array of creative practices and to learn more about art and design that is grounded in fiber and textile-based art forms both traditional and contemporary.
